What is it?
An adjustable strap used for painful conditions such as Jumpers Knee (Patella Tendonitis), Patellar Tracking and Osgood Schlatter’s disease. This self-adjustable strap relieves knee pain by providing compression and support to the Patella tendon below the knee-cap.

Specific Medical Terms
Patellar tendinopathy (or as it is commonly known patellar tendonitis or tendinitis) is an overuse injury affecting the knee. It is the result of the patella tendon being overstressed. A common name for it is Jumpers Knee.

Patellar tracking disorder means that the kneecap (patella) shifts out of place as the leg bends or straightens. In most cases, the kneecap shifts too far toward the outside of the leg. In a few people, it shifts toward the inside
Osgood Schlatters is a very common cause of knee pain in young athletes. It is a condition where the bony lump below the knee cap becomes painful and swollen during and after exercise.
The reason for this is the main thigh muscle (the quadriceps) attaches to this bony lump. When our bones grow our muscles have to stretch so during a growth spurt the thigh muscle becomes tight.
When we play sports the muscle then pulls on the bone causing pain and swelling. The more this happens the larger the lump becomes.
It usually affects those:
• Between ten and 15 years old
• Who are having a ‘growth spurt’
• Involved in sports, usually sports that involve running and jumping

When can I use it?
• Use for the relief of mild to moderate Patella Tendonitis (Jumper’s Knee).
• Use for the relief of Osgood Schlatter’s Disease.
• Ideal for use during all sporting activities where the knee joint is under high impact

How does it work?
The OPROtec Jumpers Knee Strap features a tubular cushion for gentle compression and is designed to be worn directly below the patella and over the patella tendon. It helps act as a buffer over the point of tendon insertion on the tibia, allowing dissipation of forces going through the patella and tendon. It is designed to help normalise patellar tracking and help reduce unwanted or excessive movement of the patella. The adjustable strap provides a customisable fit.
